When should you use the on-duty medical centres?
Medical Centres provide access to medical consultations outside the usual opening hours of doctors’ surgeries, for health issues that do not require urgent hospital treatment.
Whenever you are in need of general medical care and cannot wait until your GP is back, you can attend the on-duty medical centre nearest to where you live.
After midnight, you must call 112. Your call will be forwarded to the on-call doctor at the medical centre who will call you back as soon as possible. If necessary, and subject to availability, the doctor may be able to make a home visit, depending on the situation and what is wrong with the patient.
Opening hours
The medical centres are open:
- Weekdays: 8pm to 12pm
- Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays: 8am to 12pm
